gone

Does God put people into our lives for a season? A brief and fragile season which is here and then blows away on the faintest breeze?

Left and forced to wonder, "why?"

"Did I represent Christ in everything that I said and did?"

I might be the only Bible that person may ever read. This is not to be taken lightly.

"Yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist." -1 Corinthians 8:6

Our paths are intertwined and convoluted. Daily, weekly, monthly, yearly... All of the people whose lives we have the opportunities to touch. But do we?

Are we reflections of Christ in every moment of our lives?

Can people see Him in our faces, our eyes, our smiles?

Can people hear Him in our words, our greetings, our willing responses?

When a person is gone, you're left to wonder all of these things.

Then it's time to start praying with all of your heart.

With all of your mind.

With all of your strength.

"He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power." -Hebrews 1:3a

That was so beautiful. I do believe that nothing happens without God permitting it, but if he can send people into your life, so can the enemy. I think though that people sends certain people to strengthen us, and even just to bring us joy.

Wow, this is such a good post, Cassandra! It's really quite amazing how many people God orchestrates our lives to be intertwined as we go about our lives.

I just wanted to thank you SO much for your super sweet comment on my latest post...I really feel quite blessed when one of my dear readers stops to leave a little note. ;) Your encouragement meant a lot to me.

Love in Christ,

Cassie,

So true...such a great reminder! And I love how you put it into words! It reminds me of that quote from Francis of Assisi. "Go out and preach the Gospel, and if necessary, use words."

I got your letter a few weeks ago. I'll try to write back as soon as possible! :)

God bless you!
